2025 swim results
157 swimmers crossed Galway Bay – a new record! (47 solo swimmers, 31 relay teams – 110 relay team swimmers). Swimmers that finished with the same time are sorted alphabetically by last name.
- Weather:
Swimmers entered the water at Aughinish on a misty morning, with light southeasterly winds and almost calm sea conditions with only a slight chop. Despite the early mist, visibility remained excellent, allowing clear views of Salthill across the bay. This made it easier for the boat captains to locate their swimmer. The mist began to clear shortly after 10:00 AM, and the light winds persisted, creating near-ideal conditions for open water swimming. Tidal conditions were also favorable, with neap tides on Saturday and high tide occurring at 12:40 PM in Salthill around the time of the first swimmers arriving.
