Documentary film captures unique story of the Galway Bay Swim

A film documentary to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Galway Bay Swim was shown in the Eye Cinema on Monday March 14th, 2016.  This also launched entries for the 2016 swim which takes place on Saturday 23rd July, 2016.  The making of the 10th year documentary by Galway man Pat Comer showcases how important and special this swimming event is for Cancer Care West and also the swimmers. There was a great turnout from past swimmers, boatmen and women and supporters of the swim and Cancer Care West.

David O’Donnell of Cancer Care West said “2015 was really a milestone year for the swim, The Thornton Family and Cancer Care West. The documentary really captures the essence of the swim and everyone that takes part in a voluntary or swimming capacity. This event is so important to Cancer Care West and we are already looking forward to July and this year’s swim,”

A preview and full version of the documentary are available on YouTube.
